The Lone Star Rangers topped the host Turner Lions volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Friday's league test.
The Rangers now have a 16-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Creekview for a 5A Region II District 9 test on Tuesday, October 3. Lone Star will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 3-1 league win over Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-20.
The Lions (10-15) will now prepare for their test against The Colony (The Colony, TX). The Cougars enter the 5A Region II District 9 test with a 12-17 record. In their last test, The Colony was knocked off by Wakeland (Frisco, TX), 3-0, in a league test.
Match Summary
The RL Turner Lady Lions fought with gusto tonight to make the Lone Star Rangers work for each point. The Lions kept their energy levels high, talked on the court, and worked their tails off. Top defenders on the back row were Andrea Pruned and Leila Farda, Abigail Douglas-Foy had great presence on the net, and Dylann Barnwell killed it with her attacks. Final scores were 8-25, 5-25, and 6-25; with an overall score of 0-3.
