Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) and the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), saw St. Stephens's soccer squad knock off Freedom by a count of 2-0.

The Indians (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans enter the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last match, McDowell nipped Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 1-0, in a league match.

The Patriots now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Caldwell for a non-league match on Wednesday, October 1. Freedom will meet a Spartans team coming off a 1-1 non-league McDowell (Marion, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 4-4.
