The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) soccer nipped the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 3-2 in Monday's league challenge.
The Cougars now hold a 8-3 record. They play next when they host Watauga for a Northwestern 6A/7A challenge on Wednesday, October 1. Alexander Central will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-3.
With the loss, McDowell moves to 4-3 on the year. The Titans host St. Stephens (Hickory, NC) to encounter the Indians in a Northwestern 6A/7A challenge on Wednesday, October 1. The Indians go into the challenge with a record of 1-10. St. Stephens won 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
