The Valdosta Wildcats softball squad (Valdosta, GA), was routed 9-0 in Monday's non-league match with the visiting Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA)

The Bulldogs (16-5) will now prepare for their match against Echols County (Statenville, GA). The Wildcats go into the 1A D-II Region 2 match with a 5-11 record. In their last match, Echols County gained a win over Brooks County (Quitman, GA), 18-12, in a league match.

In their next game, the Wildcats play the Lowndes Vikings (Valdosta, GA) in a 6A Region 1 game, on Tuesday, September 30. Valdosta will attempt to improve on its 3-21 season record. The Vikings enter the game with a 5-20 record after their 8-6 league loss to Colquitt County (Norman Park, GA).
