Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Pinole Valley Spartans (Pinole, CA) and the visiting Hercules Titans (Hercules, CA), witnessed Pinole Valley's volleyball team overcome Hercules by a tally of 3-1.

The Spartans (10-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Saint Mary's (Albany, CA). The Panthers come into the Tri-County - Rock challenge with a 15-5 record. In their last challenge, Saint Mary's was beaten by Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Titans face the Albany Cougars (Albany, CA) in a Tri-County - Rock test, on Wednesday, October 1. Hercules will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 11-8 record after their 3-0 league win over St. Patrick-St. Vincent (Vallejo, CA).
