In Saturday's league battle, the host Huntington Highlanders soccer squad scored a close 5-0 triumph over the Martin County Cardinals.
The Highlanders (3-4) will now prepare for their battle against Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV). The Flying Eagles come into the Mountain State battle with a 3-1 record. In their last battle, Woodrow Wilson was overwhelmed by Hurricane (Hurricane, WV), 3-1, in a league match.
With the loss, Martin County drops to 0-5 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Rowan County (Morehead, KY) to encounter the Vikings in a non-league match on Thursday, September 15. The Vikings come into the match with a record of 2-5.
