The Cairo Syrupmakers softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Dougherty Trojans to 0 in the Syrupmakers league win on Tuesday.

The Syrupmakers now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Seminole County for a non-league battle on Wednesday, September 4. Cairo will confront a Indians team coming off a 14-1 non-league loss to Cook (Adel, GA). The Indians record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Dougherty moves to 0-13 on the season. The Trojans host Peach County (Fort Valley, GA) to confront the Trojans in a 3A Region 1 battle on Thursday, September 5. The Trojans come into the battle with a record of 12-2. Peach County won 16-0 in their recent league battle against Monroe (Albany, GA)
