The Pope Greyhounds triumphed over the host Riverwood Raiders softball squad by a count of 15-1 in Tuesday's league challenge.
Next, the Greyhounds meet the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets (Marietta, GA) in a 5A Region 6 challenge, on Thursday, September 5. Pope will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 5-2 league loss to Lassiter (Marietta, GA).
The Raiders (8-6) will now prepare for their challenge against River Ridge (Woodstock, GA). The Knights enter the 5A Region 6 challenge with a 5-8 record. In their last challenge, River Ridge was routed by Denmark (Alpharetta, GA), 12-5, in a non-league challenge.
