The Cavaliers (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA). The Bruins come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Blacksburg beat Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Knights play the Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 5. James River will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Bengals come into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Patrick County (Stuart, VA).
