Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Corinth Holders Pirates (Wendell, NC) and the visiting Garner Trojans (Garner, NC), saw Corinth Holders's soccer squad hold off Garner by a count of 2-1.
The Pirates (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Franklinton (Franklinton, NC). The Red Rams enter the non-league battle with a 3-3 record. In their last battle, Franklinton was edged by Franklin Academy (Wake Forest, NC), 2-0, in a non-league match.
The Trojans now sport a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they host Enloe for a non-league match on Monday, September 8. Garner will meet a Eagles team coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Knightdale (Knightdale, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 4-1.
