Georgia High School Softball - Clinch County bounces Fitzgerald

September 3, 2025: Homerville, GA 31634

The Clinch County Panthers softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane to 1 in the Panthers non-league win on Wednesday.

The Panthers now possess a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Atkinson County for a 1A D-II Region 2 battle on Thursday, September 4. Clinch County will confront a Rebels team coming off a 15-2 non-league win over Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 2-7.

The Purple Hurricane (2-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Bacon County (Alma, GA). The Raiders enter the 1A D-I Region 1 challenge with a 9-0 record. In their last challenge, Bacon County overcame Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA), 10-0, in a league challenge.
