The Spartans (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Thomson (Thomson, GA). The Bulldogs enter the 2A Region 4 challenge with a 6-7 record. In their last challenge, Thomson edged Josey (Augusta, GA), 18-3, in a league battle.

With the loss, Laney moves to 0-5 on the season. The Wildcats host Butler (Augusta, GA) to confront the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 4 challenge on Wednesday, September 10. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Butler lost 7-0 in their recent league challenge against Burke County (Waynesboro, GA)
