The Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes (Zeigler, IL) volleyball held off the host Shawnee Redskins (Wolf Lake, IL), 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league bout.

The Tornadoes now possess a 4-4 record. They play next when they host Goreville for a Black Diamond West bout on Thursday, September 4. Zeigler-Royalton will clash with a Blackcats team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Crab Orchard (Marion, IL). The Blackcats record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Shawnee drops to 4-4 on the campaign. The Redskins travel to Century (Ullin, IL) to battle the Centurions in a South Egyptian contest on Tuesday, September 9. The Centurions enter the contest with a record of 2-3. Century won 2-1 in their recent non-league contest against Pope County (Golconda, IL)
