In Friday's league battle, the host Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks soccer squad scored a close 7-0 triumph over the Middletown Middie Bears.
The Goldbacks (5-4) will now prepare for their battle against Kingston (Kingston, NY). The Tigers come into the Section 9 Division I battle with a 2-4 record.
The Middie Bears (0-7) will now prepare for their battle against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY). The Crusaders come into the Section 9 Division I battle with a 10-2 record. In their last battle, Monroe-Woodbury nudged Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY), 5-0, in a non-league battle.
