Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Matadors face the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, October 4. Sandia will attempt to better on its 8-5 season record. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 10-0 league loss to Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM).

The Panthers now have a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Farmington for a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, October 4. Piedra Vista will face a Scorpions team coming off a 1-0 league loss to La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM). The Scorpions record now stands at 6-5.
