Kickapoo Chiefs (Springfield, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nevada Tigers (Nevada, MO), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Chiefs now own a 19-4 record. They take the field next when they host Hillcrest for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, October 3. Kickapoo will face a Hornets squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Glendale (Springfield, MO). The Hornets record now stands at 5-15.

With the loss, Nevada falls to 23-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Aurora (Aurora, MO) to face the Houn Dawgs in a Class 3 District 12 challenge on Tuesday, October 3. The Houn Dawgs enter the challenge with a record of 8-16.
