The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Headland Rams (Headland, AL) and the visiting Wicksburg Panthers (Newton, AL), saw Headland's volleyball squad nip Wicksburg by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Headland upgrades its record to 3-6 on the year. The Rams host Providence Christian (Dothan, AL) to play the Eagles in a 5A Area 3 bout on Monday, October 2. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 10-6. Providence Christian lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Greenwood (Bowling Green, KY)

The Panthers now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Geneva County for a 2A Area 2 bout on Monday, October 2.
