The Ketchikan Kings held off the host Soldotna Stars volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Kings now have a 6-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thunder Mountain for a 4A Southeast test on Friday, October 27.
The Stars (13-14) will now prepare for their test against Kenai Central (Kenai, AK). The Kardinals enter the non-league test with a 26-2 record. In their last test, Kenai Central was nudged by Wasilla (Wasilla, AK), 2-1, in a non-league test.
