The Lawrence Lions (Lawrence, KS) volleyball overcame the visiting Truman Patriots (Independence, MO), 2-0 in Saturday's non-league outing.

With the win, Lawrence upgrades its record to 9-11 on the year. The Lions travel to Shawnee Mission North (Shawnee Mission, KS) to play the Bison in a non-league outing on Tuesday, October 3. The Bison go into the outing with a record of 0-13. Shawnee Mission North lost 2-0 in their recent non-league outing against St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, MO)

The Patriots now own a 10-7 record. They play next when they host Fort Osage for a Class 5 District 5 outing on Tuesday, October 3. Truman will play a Indians squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Odessa (Odessa, MO). The Indians record now stands at 10-8.
