The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) and the host Marissa/Coulterville Meteors (Marissa, IL), saw New Athens's volleyball squad nip Marissa/Coulterville by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, New Athens upgrades its record to 5-16 on the year. The Yellow Jackets travel to Trico (Campbell Hill, IL) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 3. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 20-3. Trico won 2-0 in their recent league bout against Zeigler-Royalton (Zeigler, IL)

The Meteors now own a 10-13 record. They play next when they host Christ Our Rock Lutheran for a non-league bout on Monday, October 2. Marissa/Coulterville will play a Silver Stallions squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lebanon (Lebanon, IL). The Silver Stallions record now stands at 10-11.
