The Middletown Islanders edged the visiting North Smithfield Northmen soccer team by a tally of 2-1 in Monday's league game.
Next, the Islanders face the Toll Gate Titans (Warwick, RI) in a Division 2 game, on Thursday, October 3. Middletown will attempt to advance on its 4-5 season record. The Titans enter the game with a 5-4 record after their 5-1 league win over West Warwick (West Warwick, RI).
The Northmen (1-9) will now prepare for their game against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI). The Chieftains enter the Division 2 game with a 5-4 record. In their last game, Ponaganset held off Westerly (Westerly, RI), 5-3, in a league game.
