In Monday's league outing, the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle soccer squad scored a tight 1-0 victory over the Laney Buccaneers.

The Screaming Eagle (11-2) will now prepare for their outing against Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Pirates go into the Mideastern 3A/4A outing with a 7-5 record. In their last outing, Topsail got by New Hanover (Wilmington, NC), 4-3, in a league outing.

Next up, the Buccaneers confront the North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A outing, on Tuesday, October 1. Laney will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Scorpions go into the outing with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).
