The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Social Circle Redskins to 1 in the Mustangs non-league win on Monday.

The Mustangs now sport a 13-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to King's Ridge Christian for a 1A D-I Region 5 battle on Tuesday, October 1. Mount Vernon will confront a Tigers team coming off a 15-7 non-league win over Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta, GA). The Tigers record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Social Circle moves to 18-5 on the season. The Redskins travel to Lamar County (Barnesville, GA) to confront the Trojans in a 1A D-I Region 4 battle on Tuesday, October 1. The Trojans come into the battle with a record of 13-11. Lamar County won 15-0 in their recent league battle against Putnam County (Eatonton, GA)
