With the win, Gretna improves its record to 9-0 on the season. The Hawks host Nelson County (Lovingston, VA) to face the Governors in a Dogwood test on Wednesday, October 2. The Governors go into the test with a record of 1-9. Nelson County lost 3-0 in their recent league test against Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA)

The Colonels now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lunenburg Central for a non-league test on Wednesday, October 2. Altavista will face a Chargers squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Amelia County (Amelia Court House, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 9-4.
