Fans at Monday's league contest between the Venice Gondoliers (Los Angeles, CA) and the host Westchester Comets (Los Angeles, CA), observed Venice's volleyball team top Westchester by a count of 3-0.

The Gondoliers (27-4) will now prepare for their contest against Palisades (Pacific Palisades, CA). The Dolphins enter the Western contest with a 21-9 record. In their last contest, Palisades was knocked off by Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta, CA), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Comets battle the University Wildcats (Los Angeles, CA) in a Western contest, on Wednesday, October 2. Westchester will attempt to move on its 5-8 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 13-9 record after their 3-0 league win over Fairfax (Los Angeles, CA).
