Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) and the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), observed Carbondale's volleyball team top Mt. Vernon by a tally of 2-0.

The Terriers (10-11) will now prepare for their contest against Herrin (Herrin, IL). The Tigers enter the non-league test with a 7-13 record. In their last test, Herrin was defeated by Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL), 2-1, in a league test.

The Rams now own a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harrisburg for a non-league test on Thursday, October 2. Mt. Vernon will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Herrin (Herrin, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-15.
