Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) backers were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the visiting Hancock Bulldogs (Hancock, MI), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Miners (13-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Kingsford (Kingsford, MI). The Flivvers come into the non-league challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Kingsford edged Gladstone (Gladstone, MI), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) in a Western Peninsula challenge, on Thursday, October 2. Hancock will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Gremlins come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI).
