The Manila Lions edged the host Newport Greyhounds volleyball squad by a final score of 3-2 in Tuesday's league game.

Next up, the Lions confront the Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) in a 3A 3 game, on Thursday, October 2. Manila will attempt to advance on its 7-7 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 4-10 record after their 3-0 league win over Central (West Helena, AR).

The Greyhounds (7-8) will now prepare for their outing against Crowley's Ridge Academy (Paragould, AR). The Falcons come into the 3A 3 outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Crowley's Ridge Academy nipped Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR), 3-2, in a league outing.
