In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Newberry Indians volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Pickford Panthers.

The Indians (9-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Cedarville (Cedarville, MI). The Trojans enter the non-league challenge with a 2-9 record. In their last challenge, Cedarville was beaten by Rudyard (Rudyard, MI), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Brimley Bays (Brimley, MI) in a Eastern Upper Peninsula test, on Thursday, October 2. Pickford will attempt to improve on its 1-12 season record. The Bays go into the test with a 7-9 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to St. Ignace (St. Ignace, MI).
