The Newnan Cougars (Newnan, GA) volleyball held off the host Northgate Vikings (Newnan, GA), 2-1 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 25-12 record. They play next when they travel to Dutchtown for a 5A Area 3 bout on Tuesday, September 30. Newnan will clash with a Bulldogs team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Union Grove (McDonough, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 15-18.

The Vikings (14-21) will now prepare for their match against Langston Hughes (Fairburn, GA). The Panthers enter the 5A Area 3 match with a 9-19 record. In their last match, Langston Hughes held off Stephenson (Stone Mountain, GA), 2-0, in a non-league match.
