Illinois High School Volleyball - Wilmington over Peotone

In Tuesday's league challenge, the visiting Wilmington Wildcats volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Peotone Blue Devils.

The Wildcats (17-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Herscher (Herscher, IL). The Tigers come into the Illinois Central Eight challenge with a 4-17 record. In their last challenge, Herscher lost by Manteno (Manteno, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next up, the Blue Devils face the Lisle Lions (Lisle, IL) in a Illinois Central Eight game, on Thursday, October 2. Peotone will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Lions come into the outing with a 9-11 record after their 2-0 league win over Coal City (Coal City, IL).

The Lady Cats started the second half of the season by winning 2 out of the 3 levels against Peotone. Varsity won 25-19, 25-16. Defense led the way with 3 players having double digits in digs. Both Melia Hincherick and Rachel Smith had 15 each with Sami Liaromatis close behind�with 12. Smith also added 6 kills, 4 blocks and an assist. Hincherick also had 4 kills. Makenzie Rodriguez put up 5 kills to go along with her 4 blocks and 2 aces. Aly Allgood also had a good night in the front row with 4 kills. Addison Billingsley led from the line with 3 aces to go with her 4 assists. Molly Southall led with assists with 13 to go with her 9 digs, 3 kills and an ace.
