In Tuesday's league challenge, the host Salem Wildcats volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Piney Woods Tornadoes.

The Wildcats (21-6) will now prepare for their test against Taylorsville (Taylorsville, MS). The Tartars go into the Class 1A Region 7 test with a 2-12 record. In their last test, Taylorsville was defeated by Newton (Newton, MS), 3-0, in a non-league test.

The Tornadoes now own a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mississippi School for the Deaf for a Class 1A Region 7 test on Thursday, October 2. Piney Woods will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Kansas School for the Deaf (Olathe, KS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.
