Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) and the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), observed Bunker Hill's volleyball team hold off Freedom by a count of 2-1.

The Bears (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC). The Cavaliers enter the non-league contest with a 1-8 record. In their last contest, East Burke got by Newton-Conover (Newton, NC), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Patriots meet the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 6. Freedom will attempt to move on its 4-6 season record. The Hilltoppers enter the contest with a 0-3 record after their 2-1 league loss to Patton (Morganton, NC).
