In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Loyd Star Hornets volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Amite County Trojans.
With the win, Loyd Star advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Hornets host Hazlehurst (Hazlehurst, MS) to face the Indians in a non-league test on Monday, September 8. The Indians go into the test with a record of 0-0.
The Trojans now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wesson for a non-league test on Monday, September 8. Amite County will play a Cobras squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS). The Cobras record now stands at 1-0.
