In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host North Surry Greyhounds volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the West Davidson Dragons.

The Greyhounds (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, Alleghany was edged by East Wilkes (Ronda, NC), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Dragons now sport a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Providence Grove for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9.
