Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC) and the visiting Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs (Raleigh, NC), observed Smithfield-Selma's volleyball team top Southeast Raleigh by a count of 2-0.

The Spartans (2-5) will now prepare for their battle against Knightdale (Knightdale, NC). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 0-9 record. In their last battle, Knightdale dropped by Fike (Wilson, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Bulldogs now own a 0-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host East Wake for a non-league battle on Monday, September 8. Southeast Raleigh will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Bunn (Bunn, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 5-2.
