In Thursday's league contest, the Delone Catholic Squires (McSherrystown, PA) soccer team edged the visiting Bermudian Springs Eagles (York Springs, PA), by a tally of 3-2.
The Squires now hold a 1-3 record. They play next when they travel to Dover for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 6. Delone Catholic will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Kennard-Dale (Fawn Grove, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-2.

Match Summary
Stormy weather and a lightning delay threatened play, but the skies turned blue and the storms stayed at bay to get in a delayed varsity match followed by the JV game originally scheduled to play first. The Squires came out ready to play and a few minutes in defender #11 Collin Kitzenger a senior booted it up the field and #7 Dacosta Wivell took two touches to put it in the net for a Squires goal. Within a few minutes #10 Will Holtz with a cross from the right corner to the box, #9 John Keeley shot in the second goal. At the end of the first half, Bermudian's penalty led to a direct kick just outside of the box and #10 Holtz shot it over the wall for a Squires 3-0 lead. In the second half, the Squires let two in including a penalty in the box leading to a PK, but maintained the lead for a 3-2 victory over the Eagles.
