In Thursday's non-league outing, the host Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes soccer squad scored a tight 2-0 win over the Swansboro Pirates.
The Hurricanes (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Screaming Eagle come into the non-league test with a 5-1 record. In their last test, Ashley edged Hillside (Durham, NC), 4-0, in a non-league test.
The Pirates now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Topsail for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9.
