In Thursday's non-league outing, the host Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks soccer squad scored a tight 2-1 win over the Victory Christian Academy Lions.
The Hawks (2-2) will now prepare for their outing against South Bend Washington (South Bend, IN). The Panthers come into the non-league test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, South Bend Washington was tipped by Elkhart (Elkhart, IN), 9-0, in a league test.
The Lions now sport a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Marquette Catholic for a non-league test on Monday, September 8. Victory Christian Academy will clash with a Blazers team coming off a 4-1 non-league win over East Chicago Central (East Chicago, IN). The Blazers record now stands at 4-1.
