In Thursday's non-league outing, the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds soccer squad scored a tight 4-2 victory over the Jersey Panthers.

The Piasa Birds (4-1) will now prepare for their outing against Lutheran (Springfield, IL). The Crusaders go into the non-league outing with a 3-0 record. In their last outing, Lutheran got by North Mac (Virden, IL), 8-0, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Panthers play the Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, September 6. Jersey will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Crimsons come into the test with a 4-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL).
