Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Letcher County Central Cougars (Whitesburg, KY) and the host Pike County Central Hawks (Pikeville, KY), saw Letcher County Central's soccer squad knock off Pike County Central by a count of 2-0.

The Cougars (7-4) will now prepare for their battle against Perry County Central (Hazard, KY). The Commodores enter the District 53 battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, Perry County Central by Hazard (Hazard, KY), 3-0, in a league match.

The Hawks now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Prestonsburg for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 9.
