The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane softball squad (Fitzgerald, GA), was routed 18-0 in Thursday's league contest with the visiting Bacon County Raiders (Alma, GA)
The Raiders (12-0) will now prepare for their bout against Brantley County (Nahunta, GA). The Herons go into the 1A D-I Region 1 bout with a 6-5 record.
In their next game, the Purple Hurricane clash with the Wheeler County Bulldogs (Alamo, GA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, September 8. Fitzgerald will attempt to advance on its 2-13 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 10-4 record after their 9-0 league win over Treutlen (Soperton, GA).
