The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Lassiter Trojans (Marietta, GA) and the visiting Sequoyah Chiefs (Canton, GA), saw Lassiter's softball squad nip Sequoyah by a final score of 9-2.

The Trojans (9-4) will now prepare for their match against Woodstock (Woodstock, GA). The Wolverines go into the 5A Region 6 match with a 4-11 record. In their last match, Woodstock was routed by Hillgrove (Powder Springs, GA), 8-0, in a non-league game.

The Chiefs now hold a 4-9 record. They play next when they travel to Pope for a 5A Region 6 game on Tuesday, September 9. Sequoyah will play a Greyhounds squad coming off a 12-5 non-league win over North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA). The Greyhounds record now stands at 8-7.
