With the win, Waterloo improves its record to 3-5 on the season. The Cougars host Shoals Christian (Florence, AL) to meet the Flame in a 1A Area 16 challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Flame come into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Shoals Christian lost 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Athens Bible (Athens, AL)

Next, the Indians meet the Tharptown Wildcats (Russellville, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 6. Cherokee will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-7 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Lexington (Lexington, AL).
