Virginia High School Volleyball - Giles overwhelmed by Galax

September 4, 2025: Pearisburg, VA 24134

Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Maroon Tide (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Eastern Montgomery beat Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans meet the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Giles will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 3-1 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA).
