In Thursday's league challenge, the host Vinemont Eagles volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Holly Pond Broncos.

The Eagles (14-5) will now prepare for their test against Hanceville (Hanceville, AL). The Bulldogs go into the 3A Area 11 test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Hanceville was edged by Oneonta (Oneonta, AL), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Broncos now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Locust Fork for a 3A Area 11 challenge on Monday, September 8. Holly Pond will play a Hornets team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Brindlee Mountain (Guntersville, AL). The Hornets record now stands at 1-5.
