Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Los Alamitos Griffins (Los Alamitos, CA) and the host Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA), observed Los Alamitos's volleyball team hold off Newport Harbor by a count of 3-2.

The Griffins (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against South Hills (West Covina, CA). The Huskies enter the non-league contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, South Hills got by Diamond Ranch (Pomona, CA), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Sailors meet the San Clemente Tritons (San Clemente, CA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 5. Newport Harbor will attempt to improve on its 12-1 season record.
