The crowd at Thursday's league battle between the St. Clair Cyclones (St. Clair, MN) and the host Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN), observed St. Clair's volleyball team top Maple River by a count of 3-1.

The Cyclones (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Le Sueur-Henderson (Le Sueur, MN). The Giants enter the South Central contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Le Sueur-Henderson notched a victory over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (Tracy, MN), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Eagles battle the United South Central Rebels (Wells, MN) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 8. Maple River will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Rebels enter the battle with a 1-1 record after their 3-0 league win over New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (New Richland, MN).
