In Thursday's non-league battle, the Mount St. Mary Academy Lions (Watchung, NJ) volleyball squad toppled the visiting Watchung Hills Regional Warriors (Warren, NJ), by a count of 2-0.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ). The Lions enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, North Hunterdon was knocked off by Hillsborough (Hillsborough, NJ), 2-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Warriors battle the Hunterdon Central Red Devils (Flemington, NJ) in a Skyland - Delaware East battle, on Tuesday, September 9. Watchung Hills Regional will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Red Devils go into the battle with a 2-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Roxbury (Succasunna, NJ).
