Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) fans were pleased Tuesday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the host Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers confront the Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) in a Rocky River 2A/3A challenge, on Wednesday, September 6. Piedmont will attempt to better on its 4-0 season record. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 0-0 non-league North Stanly (New London, NC).

The Cardinals now have a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Stanly for a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, September 13. Union Academy will confront a Comets team coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC). The Comets record now stands at 1-6.
